She Wore Black Satin

It’s time for Part 2 of my boudoir session with Melissa Mullins Portraits (see Part 1 here). I changed out of my champagne Dollhouse Bettie set and into one of my favorite things in the world: black satin. The bra is the Jena from Agent Provocateur* (unfortunately it’s been discontinued), while the girdlette and fully fashioned stockings are both from What Katie Did. While I usually like to wear matching sets for photoshoots, this combination worked well.It was so fun to vamp it up in this shoot! Over the top red velvet heels, opera length gloves, and a lacy mask were the perfect accessories. I couldn’t find an affordable lace mask that I liked, so I went to the fabric store and picked out my favorite lace trim, cutting it to fit my face, and attaching it with a little double stick tape. Glamour on a budget!

*A note on Agent Provocateur. I find their sizing to run extremely small. I ordered this bra in my usual 32D and it is TINY. I’ve since bought bra extenders to help with the band size, but my breasts are still thisclose to spilling out. The bra is definitely supposed to be va va voom, but if I could order it again I would probably size up to a 34D or 34DD, especially since I’m a bit curvier now than when I did this shoot. I haven’t ordered anything from Agent Provocateur in a few years, and there’s a lot of strange stuff going on with the company right now. For more about that, you can read The Lingerie Addict’s article here.

I’ve got a photoshoot tomorrow that I’m really excited about, so stay tuned for sneak peeks and behind the scenes on my Instagram @missvioletjune. I can’t wait to debut my new haircut in tomorrow’s shoot!

Until next time,

Violet
