A Very Pinup Library

I couldn’t have said it better myself John Waters! With the holiday season upon us, I figured it was the perfect time to feature my favorite books on beauty, fashion, and photography. These are my favorite books to turn to for inspiration, and they would make great gifts for that extra glamorous person in your life. From the history of lingerie, to classic pinup photography, to 40s and 50s fetish art, you can find it all here. Valerie Steele’s books were invaluable during my research on gender and sexuality for college essays. Dita Von Teese’s books taught me all about the histories of burlesque and pinup when I was just starting out, and they continue to inspire me. Simon Doonan’s delightful Eccentric Glamour is a can’t miss for those who love to dress outside the box.
